Story
Set in Istanbul during the 1942 Capital Tax period, the film tells the story of Nimet and Durmuş, who migrated from Niğde to Istanbul, and their struggle to survive in Halit Bey's inn. As the Capital Tax drove minorities to financial ruin, Halit Bey was forced to sell his assets while his brother-in-law Levon was exiled to Aşkale. Starring Hülya Avşar, this powerful drama boldly brings one of the most painful periods of Turkish social history to the screen.
