Story
The series tells the story of stonemason Emrullah and his family, forced to migrate from Mardin to Istanbul, and their struggle to survive in the big city along with his daughter Suna's sorrowful tale. The Mardin family moves to Istanbul due to poverty and various necessities, striving to find "a place and home." The drama of identityless, displaced people trying to hold on in the metropolis is explored through discrimination, economic hardship and vulnerability. Deeply examining themes of displacement, rootlessness, migration and the search for shelter, the series aired in 2007 for 2 seasons and 18 episodes.
